I grew up in Wyoming surrounded by tumble weeds, wide open spaces, and cowboys. It is about time I drew one.
I had a classmate in high school that, with their cousins, would ride their horses to school on the last day of the school year. They would leave their houses the afternoon before, spend the night in someones field, and in the morning ride the rest of the way to school for the last day.
Created using 1 brush and 2 layers. My brush of choice was the "round" live oil brush. The background color is on one layer end everything else is on the second layer.

A very short time-lapse of all the marks and moments it took to make this portrait is available by clicking on this button.
Enjoy!
